Weekly Studio Painting Sessions :-

  • As far as we know we are the only Art Society locally to offer weekly sessions where members can produce their own individual works of choice in a friendly atmosphere with like-minded individuals enjoying each others' company whilst they paint.
  • Coffee and biscuits are on offer at 8pm (please bring your own mug) when members usually have a walk around and chat about their week or current painting, swapping ideas, experiences and advice if needed.
  • Our resident professional local artist Helen Neave is on hand once a month at one of these meetings. Helen offers friendly encouragement, help and advice if required.

We are currently calling for new members to join our group and welcome painters in all media and abilities

We believe that we are the only Society locally that meets weekly for studio painting sessions

Please note that we are not a painting class - We do:

  • meet every Monday evening 7 to 9pm.
  • bring our own materials/subject to paint in any media.
  • have regular visits by our resident professional artist Helen Neave who is an Art Teacher. Helen wanders around chatting to us all and offering help and advice if requested.
  • enjoy a friendly evenings painting and or just chatting about our painting or recent events over coffee and biscuits.

We welcome you to come along to one of our Monday evenings for a chat and wander around to see what we do, or come along to one of our Demonstration evenings

The Bushloe Art Society was founded in May 1983 by students attending evening classes at Guthlaxton College, Wigston, given by the late Mrs Judy Ashcroft NDD:DLCA and President of the Society.

The Society's activities include :-

  • Weekly studio painting sessions at the Boys Brigade Hall to the rear of Wigston United Reformed Church ,Long Street, Wigston Magna, Leicester LE18 2AJ Monday Evenings 7pm - 9pm .
  • Our Resident Professional Helen Neave visits every 4 to 6 weeks to offer help and advise and give two demonstrations/workshops a year
  • 6-8 Demonstrations per year which may include some workshops
  • Annual Summer Exhibition

The Bushloe Art Society meets on Monday nights at The Boys Brigade Hall to the rear of Wigston United Reform Church, located on Long Street, Wigston Magna, LE18 2AJ

At present the Society has around 25 members who produce paintings in all media, the Society is also a member of the SAA (Society for All Artists)
